Kicking Off an Exciting Summer with RESESS Interns!

After an incredible week of orientation in Albuquerque, NM, filled with team-building, hands-on fieldwork, and coding classes, our 16 RESESS interns have dispersed to their respective research locations. This year, our interns are hosted at renowned institutions including CU Boulder, Florida International University, University of Alaska Fairbanks, Sandia National Labs, New Mexico Tech, Caltech, Penn State, and Kansas University. They are collaborating with diverse mentors on groundbreaking geoscience research projects. In addition to their research, the interns are participating in professional development coursework led by EarthScope staff. Exploring Socorro: EPIC and NMT Bureau of Mineralogy

We had a great time in Socorro! Our visit to the EPIC (EarthScope Primary Instrument Center) was truly enlightening, and we appreciate the staff for their hospitality and dedication to education. A special thank you to the NMT Bureau of Mineralogy for allowing us to visit. The fascinating exhibits at their museum provided an unforgettable experience for everyone. Your efforts made our orientation week extra special. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making our visit so memorable! This summer, 3 RESESS interns and 3 Geo-Launchpad interns will be based in Socorro, working with staff at NMT.
